A couple of weeks ago I received a letter from the local council (my landlords) to say they were replacing the lawn under our clotheslines with "paving surrounded by loose gravel". After being woken up early every morning and having workmen here for just over a week, here it is! I'm a bit disappointed - I was hoping it would look nicer and I think the stones will probably end up going everywhere.
